Stylish way to cross the Solent at Christmas - I'm booking DI Horton on it NOW!

Following the news that Wightlink is to withdraw its car ferry service with the mainland on Christmas Day, (the only ferry service that runs to the Island on Christmas Day) Shanklin-based company Capital Marine Services has stepped in to offer a replacement service. And it's no ordinary replacement but something that certainly has that Wow! factor.

Passengers will be ferried across The Solent in a glorious gaff-rigged ketch. Capital Marine Services has just taken delivery of Solais Na Mara, an 80ft tall ship capable of carrying 12 passengers, with a view to hiring it out for chartered day trips and private parties and possibly running it on Christmas Day.

I'm booking DI Andy Horton on it now - maybe he, his CID team and Uckfield's Major Crime Team can solve a murder on board!

I think this calls for a bit of onboard research, don't you?
