Project to restore First World War ship - setting for the latest DI Andy Horton, Undercurrent

A project to restore a First World War ship in time for centenary has been announced.  It is also the setting for the latest in the DI Andy Horton crime series, Undercurrent.

It was reported by The News on 26 February 2013 that work is under way to restore one of only two remaining British First World War ships in time for the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign.

This Royal Navy coastal bombardment ship, built in 1915, provided support for the landing of Allied forces during the 1915-16 campaign.

The project would open up the ship to the public which woud be great. Do you think they might ask me to officially declare it open!!

You can see the M33 in this short trailer for Undercurrent
