Tickets on sale for CSI Portsmouth 2 November where crime fiction meets crime fact

Tickets are now on sale for  CSI Portsmouth 2013 where five internationally acclaimed best-selling crime authors will be appearing alongside police and forensic experts on Saturday 2 November as part of Portsmouth BookFest.



I was delighted to be present at the launch of Portsmouth Bookfest 2013 and announce the fantastic line up for CSI Portsmouth 2013, a very popular event now in its fourth year.

Taking part in CSI Portsmouth 2013 along with myself are my fellow crime authors S. J Bolton, Natasha Cooper, M.R. Hall, Kerry Wilkinson.  I will be acting as participating moderator at the one day event discussing crime fiction and fact at The Princess Royal Gallery at the National Museum of the Royal Navy in the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.


We'll be joined on the panels by police and forensic experts including:

  • Michael Ellis, Drugs Intelligence Officer, Hampshire Police, who has worked on drug operations securing hundreds of convictions; 
  •  Forensic toxicologist Dr Alex Allan, co-founder of Triple A Forensics and consultant with Manlove Forensics who has dealt with many high profile cases including those involving suspected murders;
  •  Sergeant Tony Birr of Hampshire Police Marine Unit; 
  •  Brian Chappell MBE, a former Detective Chief Inspector with the Metropolitan Police, New Scotland Yard with experience of working on complex and high level investigations and who is now a senior lecturer at the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies at the University of Portsmouth; 
  • Hampshire Police Fingerprint bureau and the Dog Support Unit.
  • Students from South Downs College Forensic Science Course who will provide a mock up crime scene

Tickets cost £15 for the day which includes a FREE paperback book of your choice by one of the participating authors from the mobile bookshop provided on the day by The Hayling Island Bookshop.
