Question time at CSI Portsmouth 2013

The final video taken at CSI Portsmouth 2013 held on Saturday 2 November. This is a short compilation of some of the questions posed by the audience to the crime authors, police and forensic crime experts.  Apologies for the sound quality but hope you can get a flavour of it.

CSI Portsmouth was first launched in 2010 from an idea of mine to bring crime fiction and crime fact together under one roof. I organise the event with the help of Portsmouth City Council Library Service and the Hayling Island Bookshop. Part of Portsmouth BookFest, CSI Portsmouth is fast becoming a major fixture in the crime fiction festival calendar.

Crime authors who have appeared at CSI Portsmouth include: Mark Billingham, Sharon Bolton, Simon Brett, Stephen Booth, Ann Cleeves, Natasha Cooper, Graham Hurley, John Harvey, Matt Hilton, June Hampson, Michael Ridpath, Peter Lovesey, Pauline Rowson and Kerry Wilkinson.

Crime experts have included members from Hampshire police major crime team, fire investigation officers, scene of crime officers, the hi-tech unit, the marine unit, the drugs squad, fingerprint bureau, as well as experts from the Universities of Portsmouth and Surrey on fraud, stalking, forensic psychology.

CSI Portsmouth where crime fiction meets crime fact, with top selling crime authors, police and forensic experts.

The National Museum of the Royal Navy in Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard, one of Britain’s oldest maritime museums, for the use of its superb venue and for assisting me with my research for the DI Andy Horton novel, Undercurrent, which is set in and around the Museum and around the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

Also thanks to this year's sponsor, publisher, Bello, an imprint of Pan Macmillan, that brings lost classics back to life, including many crime classics.
