What's on in December 2015 for crime author Pauline Rowson

December sees the publication in paperback of DI Horton  number 11, Shroud of Evil, which is already available in hardcover and as an ebook and on Amazon Kindle.

Andy is assigned what appears to be a trivial case of a missing person, private investigator Jasper Kenton, who he believes has absconded with a client 's money but when Kenton turns up dead all that changes. What's more the case has some surprising personal ramifications for Horton which forces him to withhold vital information. As he struggles to crack the case, he knows it is only a question of time before someone discovers he’s kept silent and when that’s revealed, his part in hindering a major investigation could end his career.

"A compelling protagonist and mounting suspense make the book hard to put down." Publishers Weekly

I'm also delighted to announce that Silent Running, the first in the marine based crime series, featuring former Royal Marine Commando, Art Marvik, will be released in time for Christmas as an e book and will also be available on Amazon Kindle from 20 December, in time for some gripping reading over the festive season!

Adrift after leaving the marines, Marvik finds himself being used as bait to catch a ruthless killer whose slaying spree spans the decades. It's a mission that will put all his skills and training to the test- a dangerous assignment that could cost him his life.

Tough, fearless and fit, Marvik is not bound by the rules of the law

I'll be revealing the secrets of successful crime writing on Monday 7 December at Portchester Library, Hampshire, as part of their literary festival celebrations. Tickets cost £2.50 Contact Portchester Library   It will be my last speaking engagement of 2015 but there are plenty of talks and radio interviews lined up for 2016.  You can see a list of all my appearances on my events page.

Then aside from Christmas, there is writing to be done.  I'm currently working on the first draft of DI Andy Horton number 14, having already written DI Andy Horton number 13.  I've been asked many times whether Andy is any closer to finding out the truth about his mother's disappearance, a thread that runs through the Horton novels, from book number 3, The Suffocating Sea, onwards.  I can announce that he will indeed make some startling revelations but whether that is in Horton number 13 or 14 I haven't yet decided which is why I am working on them together, so to speak.

I've also finished the first draft of the third in the Art Marvik marine based crime series so will be returning to this once I am happy with DI Andy Horton 14.  Meanwhile in 2016, I'm delighted to announce that the second in the Art Marvik series, Dangeorous Cargo is to be published by Severn House in May 2016.
