What's on in March for crime author Pauline Rowson

March kicks off with my appearance at CSI Portsmouth on Saturday 5th at the Pyramids Centre, Southsea.  CSI Portsmouth 2016, part of Portsmouth BookFest, is a one day event. Now in its sixth year, it sees a great line up of crime authors, police and forensic experts debating crime fiction and crime fact in two panel events during the day.

I will be moderating the morning panel which I share with crime author Elly Griffiths, police crime scene expert, Simon Mound of Hampshire Police, an expert on firearms recovery at the scenes of crimes, and Jonathan Smith, one of the UK's top forensic scientists an expert in the examination of blood and body fluids, hairs, fibres, botany and wood fragment identification and adviser to many UK Police forces.

The Hampshire Police Fingerprint Bureau will also be present along with a mock up crime scene provided by students on the Forensic Science Course at South Downs College.

In the afternoon, crime author Will Sutton will quiz his fellow crime authors J. S. Law and Diana Bretherick who is also a former criminal barrister and lecturer at the Institute of Criminal Justic Studies, Portsmouth University.

Tickets for CSI Portsmouth cost £15 for the day which includes £3 off a book bought on the day. Tickets can be purchased on line or from the Box Office after 10am on 023 9268 8037, from any Portsmouth Library or from the Hayling Island Bookshop on 023 9246 6620.

Full programme and more information at CSI Portsmouth 2016.

Also in March I will be guest speaker at Fugelmere Probus Club (Fleet) on 14 March.

On the writing front I'll be working my way through the copy-edits suggested by my publisher, Severn House, for Dangerous Cargo, the second in the marine crime series featuring former Royal Marine Commando, Art Marvik. Marvik first appeared in Silent Running and has received some great reviews.

"A tense, terrifying thrill ride that twists and turns with dizzying speed, combined with a likable, smart, tough, but all too human hero, make this a cracking-good new series—action fans need Marvik on their radar." Booklist (USA)

Dangerous Cargo is to be published in the UK in May 2016 and in the USA in September 2016.

Aside from the above I will be finishing DI Andy Horton crime novel number 14 and working on Art Marvik marine thriller number 3.
