Pauline Rowson entertains the audience at Alton Probus with the secrets of successful crime writing

I entertained the members of Alton Probus and their wives on Friday 30 September with the secrets of successful crime writing. My talk followed a lunch and I revealed how I plot, research and write my crime novels set on the South Coast of England.

There are now twelve in the crime series featuring the flawed and rugged Portsmouth detective DI Andy Horton who lives on a small yacht in Southsea Marina and rides a Harley Davidson.  Fatal Catch, the twelfth in the Horton crime series, was published in 2015 with number thirteen due to be published by Severn House in February 2017.

I also introduced my new hero to the audience, Art Marvik the troubled former Royal Marine Commando now working as an undercover investigator for the UK's National Intelligence Marine Squad (NIMS). Dangerous Cargo, the second in the Art Marvik series was published by Severn House in the UK in May 2016 and in the USA on the1st September 2016.   The first in the Art Marvik series, Silent Running was published in the UK and the USA in 2015 and  has been hailed by reviewers as  'A tense, terrifying thrill ride that twists and turns with dizzying speed.'

The DI Andy Horton crime novels have been optioned by top UK production company, Lime Pictures, who are seeking to bring the enigmatic sailing detective to the TV screens. I am also the author of  two standalone thrillers, In Cold Daylight and In For the Kill.  My novels have received critical acclaim in the UK, USA and Commonwealth where they have been hailed as "exemplary police procedurals”, "cleverly plotted,” "complex and multi-layered.”

My talk was followed by a very lively Q & A session and a book signing.
