Has any feedback from readers ever changed your plans for a plot or character?

This article is taken from my interview with Soundings who have just released the audio book of Inspector Andy Horton crime novel, Death Surge, number ten in the DI Andy Horton crime series.

Death Surge is also available in paperback and as an e book on Amazon Kindle and on Kobo.

We see that you enjoy meeting with your readers and giving talks, has any feedback from readers ever changed your plans for a plot or character?

Authors are nosy people we’re always listening in on others conversations not only for dialogue but also for story lines, sub plots and ideas. People are fascinating. Everyone has a story to tell so getting out and interacting with readers, talking to people, listening to them, asking them questions about their lives and experiences is all fodder for writers. Some readers have fascinating backgrounds and are extremely helpful and have been kind enough to give me their technical expertise on all sorts of matters whether that is nautical, chemical, forensic or otherwise.

And it’s always great to get feedback from readers. Their comments haven’t changed a plot or character but the people I meet (and the places I visit) can all inspire me and provide very valuable information and ideas for crime novels and characters.

Death Surge is published in paperback, e book, on Amazon Kindle, on Kobo and as an unabridged audio book narrated by Gordon Griffin.
