Lost Voyage the new Art Mavik mystery thriller by Pauline Rowson published in the USA
Lost
Voyage, the third in the marine mystery series of crime novels to feature former Royal Marine
Commando, Art Marvik, an undercover investigator for the UK's National
Intelligence Marine Squad (NIMS), has been published by Severn House in
hardcover in the USA (1November 2017). It is also released as an ebook
worldwide and was published in hardcover in the UK in July 2017
Lost Voyage is set on the South Coast of England and has received some glowing reviews.
Kirkus Reviews says, "Rowson strikes a nice balance between thriller and puzzler in the third in the series,"' and from Net Galley, "Plenty of action, I didn't want to put the book down. A good read for mystery/ thriller fans."
In LOST VOYAGE Marvik is surprised to receive an unexpected summons to meet Helen Shannon, a woman he helped on his first mission. When a body is discovered in her flat, Marvik is convinced that Helen is being framed for murder, but why and by whom? Before he has a chance to follow it up, the head of the National Marine Intelligence Squad, (NIMS) Detective Chief Superintendent Crowder, asks Marvik to investigate the disappearance of a salvage vessel, the Mary Jo, which went missing in 2003. As Marvik delves into the past, it becomes clear that he faces a desperate battle to keep Helen and others safe from a ruthless assassin – one who will stop at nothing in order to protect the secret of the Mary Jo’s last voyage from ever being exposed.
Marvik is a troubled character, tough, highly trained, fearless, intelligent and fit but he is finding it difficult to adjust to life outside the marines. Marvik, like my other hero, Inspector Andy Horton, has a strong sense of justice, but whereas Andy has to operate within the boundaries of the law, Marvik can go outside it and often does on his missions working undercover and as a civilian attached to the UK's secret law enforcement agency, the National Intelligence Marine Squad (NIMS). These crime novels, like all my others, are set against the backdrop of the sea.
Lost Voyage is available through all good booksellers and for loan in libraries in the UK, USA and Commonwealth.
