The voices behind the audio books of the DI Andy Horton crime novels and Art Marvik Mysteries

If you love listening to a good crime story or mystery then you might have already tuned into the audio books of one (or more) of the Inspector Andy Horton crime novels or the first in the Art Marvik mysteries. And perhaps you've wondered about the narrators. A good narrator makes a huge difference to audio book listening and I'm delighted and proud to have two of the best, Gordon Griffin MBE who narrates the Inspector Andy Horton crime novels and Peter Noble who has narrated the first in the Art Marvik series.

Gordon Griffin MBE

Gordon has been an actor for over 50 years and has done everything from Shakespeare to rock musicals. For quite a while his was the voice telling you to ‘Mind the Gap, Please’ on the London Underground.He has also presented PlaySchool and in his first film acted a scene with Gregory Peck and Sophia Loren. Just the three of them! He was in the first two series of Byker Grove and spoke the very first words of the very first episode. He has recorded over 800 audio books from Homer to Chris Ryan, from Gogol to Hilary Mantel from Dickens to Catherine Cookson!

Peter Noble

Peter has recorded more than 200 audiobooks and audio dramas, for clients like the BBC, Big Finish, Hachette, HarperAudio, Hodder & Stoughton, Macmillan, and Audible and my audio book publisher Isis Publishing. Born in South Africa he studied music and drama at the University of Cape Town. In South Africa, he worked in the theatre, touring the country with a small repertory company, as well as appearing on radio, TV and film. He came to London to study classical acting at LAMDA and went on to train as a singer at the Royal Academy of Music, where he was part of the second graduating cohort of the legendary RAM Musical Theatre programme. He also has an MA in creative writing from the University of East Anglia and lives in Hertfordshire.
