Revealing the jacket cover and publication of the new Art Marvik Marine Crime novel, Dangerous Cargo

I'm delighted to showcase the  book jacket cover for the new Art Marvik marine crime novel, Dangerous Cargo, to be published by Severn House  in the UK in May 2016 and in the USA on 1 September 2016.

Dangerous Cargo is the second in the series featuring former Royal Marine Commando, Special Boat Services Officer, Art Marvik. The first Silent Running was published in the UK and the USA in 2015 and  has been hailed as a  'A tense, terrifying thrill ride that twists and turns with  dizzying speed.'

I am as many readers know also the author of the mystery crime series featuring  the flawed and rugged Portsmouth based detective DI Andy Horton  published by Severn  House. Fatal Catch, the twelfth in  the Horton crime series, was published in 2015. The DI Andy Horton crime novels have been optioned by top UK production company, Lime Pictures, who are  seeking to bring the enigmatic sailing detective to the TV screens.

For his second mission with the National Intelligence Marine Squad, (NIMS) Marvik is detailed to attend the funeral of a man who’d officially been declared dead fifty-five years earlier. So who is the imposter and why did he assume the name of a dead man? What’s more, why did he suddenly show up in a Dorset coastal town in 1989, hook up with a local fishing family, and after fathering a child, disappear in 1990?

When an innocent woman is killed during the course of the investigation, Marvik realizes that the stakes are much higher than he’d previously thought. As he begins to uncover a trail of deceit, corruption and murder that spans over half a century, Marvik must confront a ruthless killer who will stop at nothing to make sure that the sins of the past stay in the past.

All my crime novels are set against  the backdrop of the sea.

Edwin  Buckhalter, Chairman of Severn House, says, ‘Dangerous Cargo, like the first in the series, Silent Running, has all the hallmarks of a good Rowson novel,  the setting and atmosphere, the sea, interesting and diverse characters and an  intricate, complex plot. An action-packed, fast-paced crime novel that will  certainly excite her growing fan base and bring in new readers.’

I’m delighted that Severn House are publishing Dangerous Cargo.
