Pauline Rowson and Peter Lovesey at CSI Basingstoke with Police and Crime Experts 6 July 2013

I will be appearing with fellow crime author Peter Lovesey at CSI Basingstoke on Saturday 6 July at the Basingstoke Discovery Centre in Hampshire, England.

CSI Basingstoke is modelled on the highly successful CSI Portsmouth, which I help to organise and which is now in its fourth year.

We have been joined by forensic experts and police from from the Hampshire Major Crime Team. We've got some great crime authors and experts lined up for CSI Portsmouth 2013  which will be announced shortly. CSI Portsmouth 2013 takes place on Saturday 2 November at the The National Museum of the Royal Navy in Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard.

The CSI events are proving popular and I was also pleased to be asked to assist with the organisation of CSI Gateshead in April which featured crime authors Mari Hannah and Matt Hilton and a former crime scene officer and detective from the Serious Incident Team of Northumbria Police.

The CSI events bring together crime fiction and crime fact with crime authors and police and forensic experts appearing on a panel in front of an audience. The first CSI Portsmouth was held in 2010.  Crime authors who have appeared include: Mark Billingham, Simon Brett,  Stephen Booth,  Ann Cleeves,  Graham Hurley,  John Harvey,  Matt Hilton, June Hampson,  Michael Ridpath,  Peter Lovesey, and myself.  I'm looking forward to CSI Basingstoke on 6 July.

CSI Basingstoke is a morning event. On the panel with me will be crime author Peter Lovesey who has won many major awards for his crime novels. His latest in the Detective Peter Diamond series is 'The Tooth Tattoo'.

We will be joined by Carolyn Lovell, Senior Manager Hampshire Police Crime Scene Investigations and Jane Aston, Fingerprint Supervisor/Acting Bureau Trainer at Hampshire Police.

Tickets cost £5 and are available from Basingstoke Discovery Centre or by phone on 01256 478670.

The ninth in the DI Andy Horton series Undercurrent is published this year.
