What's on in July 2020 for Pauline Rowson

The simple answer to that question is not a lot! Well, certainly not in terms of talks and book events all of which have ceased because of the evil Covid-19.  However, a writer is never off duty and there is always plenty to be getting on with in the world of writing.

I'm pleased though to have the time to work on Inspector Ryga Mystery number three, which will be published in Spring 2021. I have finished third revisions and am now working steadily away on fourth revisions.  It usually takes me about eight revisions before I am happy with a novel, so there is a way to go yet but the final revisions take me a matter of days only.  My aim is to have this Ryga mystery completed by September 2020 and unless a very hot summer intervenes this is achievable.

Meanwhile I'm thrilled to announce that Inspector Ryga Mystery 2 - DEATH IN THE HARBOUR is to be published in paperback, as an ebook, on kobo and on Amazon Kindle on 2 November 2020 and is now available to pre-order.

It will also be published as an audio book, narrated by Jonathan Rhodes and produced by B7 Media at the same time.

DEATH IN THE COVE, the first Inspector Ryga Mystery is also available in paperback, ebook, kindle and audio book

And here's a little about the thoughtful, reflective Scotland Yard detective, Inspector Ryga for those of you who haven't yet met him..

About Inspector Alun Ryga

Scotland Yard were frequently called in to investigate murder cases around the UK so rather than have the novel (and series) rooted in London this meant I could move my detective around the country to help solve crimes.  Once again, like my other fictional heroes - DI Andy Horton and Art Marvik - I wanted to feature the sea in my crime novels - my trademark or brand - so I created a character with an intimate knowledge of the sea, a former Merchant Seaman, Inspector Alun Ryga.

Ryga’s ship had been seized by a German Raider in 1941 as a result of which he had been incarcerated for the rest of the war in MILAG, (Marine Internierten Lager).  Here he had to learn how to cope with the uncertainty, fear and deprivations of forced incarceration with no option but to wait, hope and pray that the war would soon be over and the Nazis would be defeated.
His experience has made Ryga observant, analytical and reflective.  It has also given him insights into his fellow man.  He’s witnessed compassion, cruelty, cowardice and heroism, mental breakdown and despair. He’s made a promise to himself that whatever happens after the war he’ll keep an open mind and never judge.
He's joined in his investigations by former war photographer, Eva Paisley and they make a formidable pair.

A Deadly Wake a DI Andy Horton MysteryThe latest DI Andy Horton is now published A DEADLY WAKE. As DI Andy Horton follows the trail of a man found dead in a log cabin on the Isle of Wight, he uncovers some startling revelations into his own mother’s past and the truth behind her disappearance over thirty years ago.

Paperback   Amazon Kindle

In July you can also pre-order DI Andy Horton LETHAL WAVES  which is being reissued in paperback as an e book and on Amazon Kindle, and the Art Mavik mystery thrillers are  re-released on 14 September 2020.

Art Marvik Mystery Thrillers by Pauline RowsonSILENT RUNNING, DANGEROUS CARGO and LOST VOYAGE are being re-published in paperback and as ebooks, on Amazon Kindle, and Kobo on 14 September 2020.

They are all available to pre-order.

That's it for now.  Happy July to all!
