Death Surge - the tenth DI Andy Horton mystery crime novel - now published in America

Death Surge, the tenth in the marine mystery crime series, featuring the flawed and rugged DI Andy Horton, has now been published in America by Severn House Publishers.   It  was published in the UK and Commonwealth in September 2013.

I'm delighted that reviews for Death Surge and the DI Andy Horton series have been great. The series has been hailed as 'multilayered, twisted and complex,' and likened to the novels of Peter Robinson, John Harvey, Ed McBain and Colin Dexter.

USA reviewer Booklist says of Death Surge, "A crisply written, cleverly plotted procedural with a nice twist," while Publishers Weekly state,  "Rowson plunges readers into the midst of the  series’ intricate backstory in her 10th Det. Insp. Andy Horton mystery. The  fast-paced narrative with its multiple theories, will draw readers along.”

The series is set against the atmospheric backdrop of the ever changing sea. The cops are tough yet fallible and the series contains a catalogue of compelling crimes, a detective with a complex past history, a tough work environment, romantic entanglements and political intrigue played out against the dramatic and powerfully evocative British marine landscape of Portsmouth and the Solent.

Other reviewers say, "A high quality puzzle… a devious plot.  Death Surge is a taut and exciting investigation into a disappearance which turns into a murder hunt….all very enjoyable." David Marshall

"This excellent police procedural is the twelfth mystery by Pauline Rowson.  I was gripped until the last page of this very well structured and plotted story. Recommended.' Terry Halligan, Eurocrime

Death Surge is available in hardcover and as an e book.
