The Guernsey Ferry Murders DI Andy Horton Solent Murder Mystery 

In THE GUERNSEY FERRY MURDERS, formerly published as Lethal Waves,  DI Andy Horton has crossed the Solent on the Wightlink Fast Cat ferry to  Ryde on the Isle of Wight in pursuit of his investigation into the murder of a vagrant found under a houseboat on the shores of Portsmouth close to the marina where he lives on his small yacht. He is on Ryde Pier where the Island train service runs from.

He's also investigating the death of a woman found in a cabin on the Condor Commodore ferry to Guernsey in the Channel Islands.  Are the two deaths linked?  Was the affluent woman on the Guernsey bound ferry murdered? Had she any connection with the vagrant? And what has taken Andy to the Isle of Wight? Well I'm not going to spoil your enjoyment of reading the book by telling you.  But here's little bit of background on the Isle of Wight trains.

    When I created Detective Inspector Andy Horton in THE PORTSMOUTH MURDERS (formerly published as Tide of Death) I had little idea that he would go on to solve so many murder mysteries, or that he had such a complex childhood. Locations inspire me - the story behind DI Andy Horton Solent Murder Mystery THE CHALE BAY MURDERS

Locations are always a great inspiration for me and trigger ideas for many of my crime novels particularly those in the series featuring my Harley-Davidson, sailing detective Inspector Andy Horton, whose patch is Portsmouth on the South Coast of England. For number seven in the Horton crime series, THE CHALE BAY MURDERS, I was inspired by the beautiful and rugged coastline on the east of the Isle of Wight, in particular the stretch from Ventnor to St Catherine’s lighthouse and the secluded bays, a good place to put a body! First though I decided to feature a body being found drifting in the Solent, between Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight, just close to one of the four forts built as coastal defences by Lord Palmerston in 1859 to repel a French invasion.
