I've just had a bit of a shock - I'm rare!

I'm normally better known as the author of several crime novels including my marine mysteries featuring my detective Inspector Andy Horton, and for my stand alone crime thriller novels, In Cold Daylight and In For The Kill .  But I am also the author of three marketing books published in 2009 by Crimson, and before that the author of several sales, marketing and self-improvement books, some of which are not currently in print but are available as audio books and e books . Imagine then my surprise while browsing my titles on Amazon to find that some of my marketing/self improvement titles are being sold second hand for the outstanding amounts of £32.00, £40.00, and a staggering £88.95!  (They were orginally £9.99) Have I become rare? Oh, if I only I was getting a royalty!

NEW Audio Book and Business Books

It may be summer (although you'd never guess it from the weather) and holiday time, but it's a busy August for me with the publication of the new unabridged audio book version of The Suffocating Sea , the third in the Inspector Horton Marine Mystery series of crime novels set in the Solent area, and the publication of three of my new marketing and sales books. The Suffocating Sea has been published by Isis Publishing as an Unabridged Audio Book. It is read by Gordon Griffin and is available in cassette and CD form and as a download. Readers will also be able to take it out on loan from UK libraries. In addition, three of my new marketing and sales books are also published today by Crimson, as part of an exciting new business series - Get Brilliant Results Fast. Successful Marketing , Successful Sales and Successful Customer Services are packed full of tips and techniques to help businesses get results quickly. They include case studies, action points and a quick recap at the...

Delivering an inspiring talk

I'm preparing for a talk I am giving tomorrow at a Women Into Business conference. I am the keynote speaker so I need to make sure that I kick-start the conference on the right note. There are going to be ninety women there and all keen to start, or who are thinking about starting, their own business. Of course there are people around who think that now is not a good time to be doing so, but I started my own marketing and training company in the UK in 1992 three days before Black Wednesday when interest rates hit 15 per cent. They came down a little after that but they were still very high at between 8 -12 percent for some time. The UK also then had nearly three million unemployed and many people were in a negative equity situation with regards to their homes - so if that wasn't bad then I don't know what was. There's nothing new in all this gloom and doom scenario that we hear so much of today. We go through cycles of boom and bust, good times and bad times and you can...
