Got a call this morning to say that my interview with Angel Radio was being broadcast at 11am. I might still be on air Friday 7 October at 10am but I'm not sure.  Sorry I couldn't post this before now but I was crossing Brading Marshes on the Isle of Wight at the time of the call and didn't get back until lunchtime. Angel Radio are going to repeat the broadcast though  each week over the next three weeks, so perhaps you'll get a chance to catch it then. I am also waiting for a copy of the recording of the interview with Tony Smith of Angel Radio and once I receive it I will edit it and put it on Pauline Rowson You Tube Channel and on my web site and blog, so no excuses then for not listening to it!!

Choosing titles for your novel

I had a great time at Angel Radio yesterday and was fortunate enough to meet one of my 'fans' who came in to the studio especially to see me and tell me how much she enjoyed my Horton novels. It's great for a writer to hear from readers who enjoy their work, so thank you. Much appreciated and it spurred me on to rush home and write. One of the questions Mildred French, the presenter of the radio show at Angel Radio, asked me was how do you choose titles for your novels? It's a question that often comes up when I am giving talks. I might have covered it here before, but here goes, again, if I have! Titles either come to me instantly, as in my new Marine Mystery crime novel - Dead Man's Wharf , due out on 29 April, or I struggle for ages. The first title in the series was simple, Tide of Death but I had to change the title of the second in the series from Deadly Harbour to Deadly Waters , because it was being published in the USA and the publisher didn't want th...

An interview on Angel Radio

I will be on Angel Radio on Tuesday 17 February between 12.30pm and 1pm. Angel Radio is a thriving radio station with a growing audience worldwide. It is also unique in that it accentuates the positive aspects of being an older person, provides a radio station for older people to run themselves, and specialises in records made before1960. There is no other radio station in Europe which provides this all encompassing service for older people. And I know it has listeners in the USA too. Join me on Angel Radio on 17 February talking about my marine mysteries, my writing career and my life as I chat to Mildred French. You can tune in on the Internet at http://www.angelradio.moonfruit.com/ # or tune in to 101.1FM

Photo shoot and radio show

Image
I attended the photo shoot for the publicity for the Havant Literary Festival this morning with fellow authors, Brian Clarke and saga writer Dee Williams. ( I'm on the right holding a copy of THE SUFFOCATING SEA.) The children are from Warblington School. The photograph was for The News, Portsmouth's daily newspaper. I think an article is to appear in Wednesday's edition. As part of the festival I'm giving a talk about my novels on Saturday 27 September between 10.30am and 12.30pm at Havant Arts Centre. There is a packed programme of events throughout the course of the festival which runs from 25 September to 28 September, with something for everyone. You can check it out on the web site http://www.havantlitfest.hampshire.org.uk/ Then it was on to Angel Radio. It seemed to go very well, it must have done because they've asked me back to do a more in depth radio show at a later date. It's a fascinating radio station run by volunteers with an eclectic mix of musi...

On The Radio

I'm on the radio twice this week. On 23 September I will be on Angel Radio which is a station dedicated to 'snap, crackle and no pop.' It is run primarily by older people who have created a unique radio service for lovers of vintage music and nostalgia. You can listen to it on the web site www.angelradio.co.uk or on 101.1FM. The station has listeners from all over the UK and the USA, so I'll get a chance to say 'hello' to some of my readers in the States. I'm being interviewed about my novels and my forthcoming appearance at the Havant Literary Festival on Saturday 27 September from 10.30 to 12.30. Tune in to Angel Radio if you get the chance. Then on Friday 26 September I will be on BBC Radio Solent at the incredibly early time of 7.30am. Just right for catching the drive time crowd. (Must remember to sound alert - though that might be difficult if I haven't had my caffeine injection by then.) You can listen in as I speak with Julian Clegg on 9...
